We are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Head of Sales to lead our sales and marketing efforts, drive market penetration of our innovative building systems, and scale our business. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of sales experience in the construction or affordable housing sectors, a strong network within key markets, and a passion for social impact. This role requires an individual with a strategic mindset, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to grow sales and cultivate lasting partnerships in a fast-paced, start-up environment. Onsite Building Systems, also known as Onsite-ICF, is a social enterprise committed to revolutionizing affordable construction for stronger communities. We believe that everyone deserves a high-quality, dignified home. By challenging conventional building methods, we have developed an innovative wall system using onsite-fabricated polyurethane foam construction blocks. This technology allows us to build high-performing, energy-efficient structures at an accessible price point, serving both the social and commercial sectors. The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Head of Sales to lead our sales and marketing function and drive business growth. The ideal candidate will manage and motivate the sales team, identify and exploit opportunities across different market sectors, and take ownership of closing high-value deals. This role requires a strong mix of leadership, business development, and hands-on selling skills.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Growth
Develop and execute an ambitious sales plan in collaboration with the Regional Director and CEO.
Drive sales growth across multiple sectors including affordable housing, government projects, NGOs, SACCOs, commercial developers, and institutional clients.
Apply innovative techniques to prospecting, deal coverage, and closing.
Business Development & Networking
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with individuals, organizations, and institutions within the affordable housing ecosystem.
Build enduring partnerships with government bodies, NGOs, contractors, developers, and other stakeholders.
Marketing & Visibility
In partnership with the Regional Director, design and implement marketing plans aligned with sales and impact goals.
Lead initiatives in advertising, branding, trade shows, exhibitions, and digital marketing.
Provide content for the company website, social media, and public relations, including video and photo materials.
Monitor market trends, customer preferences, and competitive activities.
Sales Operations & Administration
Oversee contract negotiations, bids, proposals, and MOUs with clients.
Ensure compliance with company payment terms and sales policies.
Manage reporting processes including sales forecasts, metrics, budgets, and pipeline updates.
Effectively use CRM tools (HubSpot) to manage leads and track performance.
Team Leadership
Lead, motivate, and manage internal sales staff and independent sales agents.
Build a performance-driven culture focused on results and social impact.
Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, Communications, or related field (Master’s preferred).
At least 10 years of progressive sales experience, with proven success in B2B and institutional sales.
Experience in affordable housing and/or social enterprise is highly desirable.
Track record of selling into government (national and county), NGOs, SACCOs, and commercial sectors.
Demonstrated experience in marketing, branding, trade shows, and advertising.
Strong people skills, charisma, and passion for social impact.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a start-up environment.
Leadership skills to inspire teams, embrace Onsite ICF’s mission, and deliver results.
Solid problem-solving skills and ability to find creative solutions.
Strong communication skills: fluent in English and local languages, excellent presentation and public speaking ability.
Proficiency in digital tools (CRM, MS Office, presentations).
Understanding of the affordable housing sector in Kenya (rural and urban) and networks within construction, real estate, and housing.
Ability to travel extensively within Kenya (own vehicle required) and occasionally within East Africa.
