Job Description

The Client

Finch Safaris is a luxury travel and safari concierge with 45 years of heritage. The business designs and operates bespoke journeys and retreats across East and Southern Africa for high-net-worth individuals, EO and YPO networks, and Virgin Limited Edition guests.

The Role

You will be the senior commercial face of the business, designing exceptional journeys for HNW clients, growing the company's market presence, and representing Finch Safaris at trade shows and in partner relationships. You will work directly with the founder and ownership group to shape the next phase of growth, including expansion into new markets and the broader Virgin Limited Edition relationship.

Key Responsibilities

● Design and cost bespoke safari and luxury travel journeys across East and Southern Africa for HNW direct-to-consumer clients.

● Own commercial growth: identify new market opportunities, drive conversion, and deliver against revenue and margin targets.

● Represent Finch Safaris externally at industry trade shows, partner meetings, and in public-facing positioning.

● Build and deepen relationships with luxury lodge groups, hospitality partners, and supplier networks across the region.

● Manage the day-to-day client experience end-to-end, from first conversation through to post-trip follow-up.

● Lead and mentor the supporting team across logistics, operations, and client services.

● Maintain accurate booking and client data in Tourplan and CRM systems and use insights to improve commercial performance.

Required Qualifications

● 10+ years in luxury travel, safari, or comparable high-end hospitality with complex logistics.

● Direct experience selling to and managing HNW direct-to-consumer clients.

● Demonstrable P&L or commercial ownership at GM, Deputy GM, or Head of Commercial level.

● Established network across East and Southern African luxury travel or hospitality.

● Working knowledge of Tourplan, Safari Portal, or comparable booking systems, or a strong learning curve.

● Comfort representing a business publicly: trade shows, partner forums, HNW client settings.

Skills and Competencies

● Commercial intuition and entrepreneurial drive.

● Detail discipline at the luxury end where errors are reputational.

● Calm and credible under pressure.

● Strong writing, presentation, and presence in client and partner settings.

● Cultural fluency across Kenyan hospitality, international HNW expectations, and Western luxury brand standards.

● Comfort working in a founder-led environment with informal decision rights.

● Self-directed, proactive, and intellectually curious.

● Genuine passion for travel, hospitality, and the African continent.
